Education Re-Imagined!
Children in Montessori schools embark on meaningful and purposeful journeys of self-construction and develop a true love of learning.
MST is a place where learning is an amazing journey, not a race. It's a home to a community of learners, discovering their passions in the world we share.

Building Bridges: Chinese Education Leaders Visit MST
Luminaries of the education field in China completed their study tour of Japan at MST. After presentations on the Montessori method, they feasted at the middle school's pop-up restaurant. The evening was capped off with Eucalyptans fielding questions about their own education experiences. Comparisons by the Chinese students to their schools back home were especially illuminating. This is part of a week-long study tour organized by MST parent and education leader Yinuo Li (se

Willow class dove into their annual camping trip in the forests of Chiba. The Upper Elementary children spent three days exploring independence from their families, cooperative living with their peers, and self-sufficiency. Returning to a Community Far From Home
Brazilian sports journalists Carlos and Ana enrolled their children at MST for three and a half years and they became vital members of the parent community. Vicente (Oak and Willow) and Emilia (Hazel and Ginkgo) quickly made friends despite their lack of English at first. Assigned to cover the Olympics, their stay was lengthened when the Tokyo games were delayed due to the pandemic. But the MST community were fortunate to have them a little longer. Embracing Change: A Journey Through Montessori Education in Tokyo
My first weekend in Tokyo, I was lucky enough to observe the Autumn Festival. I watched as the communities surrounding Azabu Juban paraded their portable shrines through the streets. In the evenings, they celebrated together, sharing song, dance, laughter, and food. Now, as the season begins to shift and we anticipate cooler temperatures, I find myself reflecting on the nature of change. The move to Japan with my family has been a transitional experience. Many in our communit
