From Popsicles to Piet Mondrian



The first week of summer camp provided a dynamic and enriching experience for all our students. Divided into five groups, the children are enjoying various field trips and engaging activities on campus. Each day is filled with new adventures, from exploring local museums to participating in hands-on projects that capture their interests and imaginations.


Sunshine Group 1 are visiting the Higashi-Shinagawa Marine Park where they marvel at diverse marine life and learn about ocean conservation. They are venturing to Shimizu Park Aquaventure, immersing themselves in thrilling water activities and enjoying the lush greenery of the park. Their creativity is blossoming at the Haruno Ogawa Play Park, where they engage in imaginative play amidst scenic surroundings.


Sunshine Groups 2 and 3 are having a particularly exciting time with weekly themes focused on different professions. In the first week, the children became Artists, learning various art techniques. 


The second week will turn them into Engineers, building rockets and towers. In the third week, they will be Athletes, participating in sporting events. Field trips include visits to the Science Museum, Tobu Museum, Muddy Park, and Kid-o-kid Yomiuriland. On campus, the children engage in creative activities like Piet Mondrian-style bag painting, stamp printing, cooking, and water play. 



Lower Elementary is having an enriching summer camp experience that combines education with excitement. Their journey began with a trip to the Ajinomoto Factory, where they delved into the intricacies of food manufacturing processes. They are learning about the journey from raw ingredients to finished products, gaining valuable insights into nutrition and food safety. Continuing their exploration of the natural world, the students are visiting Adachiku Biopark, where they are immersing themselves in the beauty of local flora and fauna. 


The Upper Elementary group are having an exciting and enriching camp filled with a variety of activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and fun. The students are engaging in a game of drawing with string, showcasing their artistic skills and imagination. They are also enjoying making things with clay, cooking delicious pancakes and yakisoba, and creating their own popsicles. 


The group will be exploring the wonders of nature and animals with visits to Zoorasia and Tamagawa, and challenging their physical abilities at the Tsukishino Athletic Course and Spider Gym. They are bonding over board games and delving into engineering and architectural projects, including building and testing a catapult. The summer camp is providing a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, leaving the students with cherished memories and new skills.


Each week provides a unique and memorable learning experience, making this summer camp truly special for all our students.
